Pyramid / Preserving the beginning

The game that started it all.

At fifteen, I wrote and self-published Pyramid, my own tabletop role-playing game. Returning to it now means preserving a piece of my own history, and a small piece of the history of independent role-playing games.

Republication planned
A fantasy view of weathered Egyptian temple columns and pyramids across a desert.

Imagined setting artwork · A creative illustration, not an archaeological reconstruction.

An original worth preserving

The original Pyramid belongs here as a work in its own right. Its republication will preserve the game as it was, allowing readers to encounter the ideas and decisions of a young designer on their own terms.

From the archive to the table

The plan is to make the original available again alongside context about its creation. The original manuscript and publication materials have not yet been added to this site. There is no downloadable edition available here yet.

A companion to the modern game

Preservation and redesign serve different purposes. The original edition will have its own place in the archive, while the modern update has room to reconsider what the game can become.
